Our Mission

The Friends of the Coronado Public Library (FOL) is a group of community volunteers dedicated to supporting and expanding the services and programs of the Library through fundraising, volunteer support and community outreach. Our mission is to promote the library as an educational, community and cultural center that provides learning and engagement opportunities for our community.

The Coronado Friends of the Coronado Public Library (FOL), founded in 1970, is a public benefit non-profit organization whose primary mission is to support the Coronado Public Library. A membership organization, the FOL is governed by a Board of Trustees who meet monthly at the Coronado Public Library. The Officers of the corporation, a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer,  are elected to three year terms of office by the Trustees. The FOL’s by-laws govern the corporation.

The backbone of the FOL’s operation are the many dedicated volunteers who work at Second Hand Prose, sort books, stock bookshelves, and help out at book sales that are held a few times a year.
